A high school in Grassy Park that had to open in April. A wine cellar in Stellenbosch that still had to take the harvest while we worked on it. A hostel dining hall finished before the school came back. That is the kind of job we get called for.
PDK Civils & Construction works out of Strand, across the Winelands and greater Cape Town. Houses, schools, cellars, apartment blocks and civil works — as main contractor or alongside one. Most of our work comes through architects and quantity surveyors we have built with before.
Jacques van Greunen, our managing director, has been building in the Western Cape for 19 years. He walks the sites himself.
What we take on
Residential
New homes and major alterations in Stellenbosch, Somerset West and the surrounding farms, from R5m up. Double storeys, pools, timber decks, difficult ground and tight erven.
Commercial & institutional
Schools, hostels, cellars and apartment blocks across Cape Town and the Winelands. Usually with a handover date fixed by a term, a harvest or a lease.
Civils
Bulk earthworks, layerworks, subsoil drainage and platforms, including subcontract work for main contractors in Rondebosch and greater Cape Town.
