06 Renovations & alterations

Renovations & Alterations

Existing buildings come with history, hidden conditions and interfaces that only become obvious once the work opens up.

01 / Overview

Renovation work rarely starts with a blank sheet.

PDK undertakes residential and commercial renovations, additions, refurbishments and structural alterations across existing buildings.

Unlike a new build, alteration work has to respond to what is already there. Existing structure, waterproofing, services, finishes and occupied areas can all affect the sequence. The practical job is to expose, assess and tie new work back into the building without losing control of the programme.

Scope

Home renovations

Reworking existing homes through layout changes, building upgrades and coordinated improvement work rather than isolated cosmetic changes.

03 / Typical project process

How the job moves.

The exact programme changes from project to project. This is the typical construction logic rather than a promise that every job follows identical steps.

06 / Questions

Before the first site meeting.

01 Does PDK only handle home renovations?

No. PDK undertakes both residential and commercial renovation work, including alterations, additions and refurbishments.

02 Can PDK undertake structural alterations?

Yes. Structural alterations form part of PDK’s renovation capability where the project requires more substantial building changes.

03 Can additions and extensions form part of the work?

Yes. PDK undertakes additions and extensions where new construction is tied into an existing property.

04 Why is renovation sequencing important?

Existing buildings can reveal conditions that were not visible before work started. Demolition, structural work, services and finishes need to be sequenced so those discoveries can be dealt with without creating unnecessary rework.
