Civil Construction
Groundworks, drainage, services and external works that prepare the site for the building work that follows.
The work below ground controls what happens above it.
PDK’s civil capability includes drainage, road works, paving, earthworks, excavation and related site infrastructure, together with civil packages that form part of larger building projects.
On Starlight Academy, for example, the early works included stormwater installation, deep services, dewatering and excavation for the raft slab before the building moved into structure and finishes. That sequence is a useful example of why civil and building work cannot be planned in isolation.
Where this service fits.
Select a work type to see how it fits into the wider construction scope.
Stormwater & drainage
Drainage and stormwater work coordinated with site levels, building footprints and the external areas that still have to be constructed.
How the job moves.
The exact programme changes from project to project. This is the typical construction logic rather than a promise that every job follows identical steps.
Levels & conditions
Existing levels, ground conditions, water, access and the intended building footprint are considered before work opens up the site.
Before the first site meeting.
01 What civil work does PDK undertake?
PDK’s existing capability includes drainage, road works, paving, excavation and related civil engineering work, together with civil packages within larger building projects.
02 Can civil work be combined with the main building contract?
Yes. PDK has delivered projects where early civil work and later structural and finishing work form part of the same broader construction programme.
03 Can PDK deal with difficult ground conditions?
PDK has project experience with wet and unstable ground conditions. At Starlight Academy, dewatering and segmented excavation were used to deal with a high water table and trench instability.
04 Does PDK undertake paving and external works?
Yes. Paving and selected external works form part of PDK’s civil and broader construction capability where included in the project scope.
